CD 162 - Type III, Mold G9

Color: Dk. Green Aqua
Base Type: SB:s

Features: The second reworking of CD 162 I, Mold G9 and CD 162, II G9, to widen wire groove. The lettering is unchanged from CD 162 II, G9, although most pieces of Type III show considerable wear on the lettering, often making it appear with rounded edges (see below). On front, Y has unusually long upper arms that makes it look like a V. On reverse, MADE IN is placed high on the skirt and is often indistinct or illegible (see below). The lower half of the mold number is often indistinct. For comparison of the three versions/types, see below.

Mold Number Location: Reverse centered below NO.

Lettering Images:

In this example, MADE IN is worn and indistinct. (photos courtesy Lee Brewer)

On this piece, the glass was also cool when pressed making it more difficult to fill the incised letters.
