CD 162 - Type I, Mold G7

Features: Lettering is generally uneven and shallow, with rounded edges. On front, there are six discernable circle blot-outs beneath LYNCHBURG. The upper portion of the logo oval is placed very close to the wire groove edge and is usually not visible. On reverse, MADE IN U.S.A. is crudely done and weak, while NO. 36- is stronger (retained Gayner lettering). There are three circle blot-outs beneath MADE IN U.S.A. The M has a heavy dot of glass at its upper left; S is misshapen at the top with the upper curve flattened and pointed downward. There is a second period or small dot below the bottom right leg of A; there is also a slightly raised and rounded area of glass about 5mm wide following A (see below). This mold was reworked twice to widen the wire groove, CD 162 II, Mold G7 and CD 162 III, Mold G7, and then retooled to strengthen the skirt (CD 162 III, Mold G7.1).
