CD 160 - Type II, Mold 10.2

General Features: Re-working of CD 160 II, Mold 10.1 to further reshape the dome. Lettering is unchanged, generally strong with both rounded and triangular edges. On front, LYNCHBURG is strong with triangular edges and uneven letters, while the L logo is much weaker with rounded edges; H is slightly larger. Front lettering is about 6 mm from the base. On reverse, NO. 32 is weaker with 3 lower than 2; MADE IN U.S.A. is strong with triangular edges; S slants to the left. Top of dome is further enlarged with the peaked top of CD 160 II, Mold 10.1 returned to a more rounded version.

Additional Information: It was originally thought that this mold was an intermediate version between the "normal" profile of Lynchburg CD 160 Type II and the peaked top version of a Type III (now classified as CD 160 II, Mold 10.1). However closer examination and comparison of the examples of each led to the conclusion that the original CD 160 II, Mold 10 was first reworked into the peaked top variety, CD 160 II, Mold 10.1, and then reworked again into this version with a slightly taller and heftier crown top, CD 160 II, Mold 10.2.
