CD 106 - Type II, Mold G6.1

Features: Retooling of CD 106 II, Mold G6; lettering is strengthened, now strong with triangular edges. On reverse, U.S.A. is enlarged and new periods added; the old periods are still visible (see below). On reverse, there is a very small hand engraved mold number on reverse about 16mm left and slightly above U (see below). This kind of small mold number was typical of Gayner molds. This mold was retoooled to add a second mold number to the front skirt, CD 106 II, Mold G6.2.
Additional Information: This is one of the few Lynchburg molds that occur with two different types of crown tops on the same bottom pieces of the mold (CD 106 Type I, Mold G6.1).
