CD 106 - Type II, Mold 3.1
Features: Retooled CD 106 II, Mold G3; lettering has been strengthened, now with triangular edges. On front, a small hand engraved mold number is added on the front to the right of L logo. On reverse, the old Gayner mold number is mostly obliterated by the widened D, but is still partially visible. On reverse, U.S.A. is enlarged and new periods added slightly below letters; the old periods are still plainly visible above the new ones (see below). This mold was retooled a second time to replace the hand engraved mold number with a die stamped number, CD 106 II, Mold G3.2.
Mold Number Location: On reverse beneath the upper left corner D; a second number on front skirt to the right of L Logo.
