CD 106 - Type II, Mold G4

Features: Lettering is generally shallow and weak with rounded edges. On front, the upper part of LYNCHBURG is often indistinct. There are a series of circular blot-outs beneath LYNCHBURG. There is a small vertical mark that looks like a 1 to the left of the L logo. This is a tool mark scratch or a defect in the mold that was a feature of the original Gayner mold (see photos at CD 106 I, Mold G4). On reverse, there is a circular blot-out beneath 1. The lower curve of S is larger. This mold was retooled, CD 106 I, Mold G4.1.

Additional Information: This mold is actually a CD 106 Type I, Mold G4 produced with a Type II crown top, one of the few proven examples of a Lynchburg mold's bottom two thirds being used with more than one crown mold. It is otherwise identical to Type I, Mold G4.
